Duke of Edinburgh Practice Expedition!

Duke of Edinburgh Award!

For those of you who don't know, the Duke of Edinburgh Award is an achievement award for young people in the UK aged between 14 and 24. It's a very good achievement and gives you a good chance to develop skills for work and life in the future. It gives young people the chance to 'fulfil their potential and have a brighter future.' There is a chance to complete bronze, silver and gold award.

Me and my friends completed the practice expedition for the bronze award this weekend.
My group of 5 consisted of my best friends, Erin, Seana, Rachael and Caitlin. My other friend Megan was meant to come but she was ill and couldn't make it which we were all so disappointed about!

We left on Friday morning, and we got on the bus. We were all so excited but we had no idea what we had got ourselves into ;)

Erin, Seana and me on the bus.

Before we headed off by ourselves into the wilderness (haha!) we obviously got a group photo. Note: This was before we were all knackered and ready to pass out...
From Left to Right- Erin, Seana, Me, Caitlin, Rachael.

Unfortunately early on on the walk Rachael (furthest to the right) put her heavy bag down at a funny angle whilst walking up a massive hill and injured her shoulder/collarbone. We didn't know if she could even carry on but she powered on through and we're all proud of her for carrying on despite her pain, she was slinged up and carried on as if nothing was wrong! Well done Rachael, love you loads <3 After about 2 hours of walking we were starving and decided to stop for our lunch, which we all look like we're enjoying in that picture haha! :) We were all getting really warm at this point, we were really lucky on Friday with the sunny weather during the day!

Nice mug Erin ;)
After lunch we got back to walking and a couple of the teachers had caught up with us, which probably meant we were slacking slightly... LOL. This is us walking along about half way through the walk and still smiling as you can see :P
Back to walking after lunch :)
Even though we were nearing the end of the walk we had to walk up a couple of massive hills and we were all knackered!! The views were amazing and beautiful but walking up those hills was a killer to be honest.. hahaha. Me and Seana always ended up at the back of the clump of gals, I don't know what we were doing wrong.. Oh well, I guess we had each other :P
This is when Erin obviously started getting fed up... HAHA! Jks love you :)

Massive hills for dayssss...

The night was eventful, let's put it that way. A couple things kind of ruined the night but all my friend (except Megan :( wahhh!) were there to cheer me up and make sure I had fun. All the girls- Fiona, Mel, Amy, Rachael, Erin, Seana, Caitlin (and a few of the boys) belted out a few of our favourite songs when it was getting dark and a few of us headed up to the fire just before we went to bed for a late night mingle :P Me, Rachael and Caitlin all shared a tent and it was raining during the night. The sound of the rain did keep me up most of the night but I was talking to Cait and Rachael most of the night anyway. People came in and out our tent throughout the night and we swear we saw some badgers. (It was probably just rocks or something..) Hahaha.

The next morning we all got up relatively early and made breakfast whilst packing up out bags and brushing our teeth and other morning type of things. When the teachers came up to the campsite we were informed that we had 10 minutes to quickly pack up all of the tents and leave the campsite because the scouts needed it... Packing away a tent in a hurry is not a pleasant thing (bearing in mind, they were soaked from all the rain during the night!) We all got quite frustrated and stressed but it soon wore off because we were back to the walking. We knew that on Saturday we wouldn't have to walk as far as the previous day but we were all sore and achy! We were all knackered on the way back and barely spoke through the first half an hour of the trek. We all made it back and it took us less time than we thought it would! We were all extremely happy to be back but soon realized that this was only the practice and we have to do it all over again in 3 weeks...
I'm looking forward to the real thing!
Making breakfast.

Duke of Edinburgh was a really challenging experience and I'm really looking forward to doing it for real. I definetely made a whole load of memories with my friends which I will never forget and a few inside jokes which I'm sure will never us.. :P (Erin, Caitlin, Seana, Rachael- I miss Duff duff already... ;) hahaha)
I'd like to thank all my D of E gals- Erin, Seana, Caitlin and Rachael because well without you guys I would have been lonered and had a rubbish time! Love you guys loads <3

I hope you enjoyed this kind of blog post. It's quite different but I thought it was worth sharing with you guys ;) If you have any requests please leave them as a coment, I'd really apprieciate it :)

My week in outfits

My Week in Outfits

This week I decided to document the outfits I was wearing so I could show you my (boring) personal style! It's nothing to fancy but I thought it would be a nice idea none-the-less :) So lets get started:

Monday.
It was a bright and sunny day on Monday, it was so sunny and everyone was really happy! I had a good fun day planned so I wanted to look at least half decent! I wore a white cropped t-shirt with a lace hem. I paired this with a pair of jean shorts, a pink blazer and a pair on black suede converse. I had a gold statement necklace on with this aswell. I went out with my friends, it was such a chilled day in the sun, it was very fun! :)

Tuesday.
I had stayed at my friends on Monday night and so I didn't have anything planned for Tuesday. In my bag I packed a white T-shirt, a black skirt with a shiny kind of effect, it has little flower imprints on it. You can't see it that well in the picture though! On top of this I wore a pink cardigan! :)

Skirt- Internationale
Cardigan- Dorothy Perkins

Wednesday.
On Wednesday it was slightly breezier so wasn't as warm but still lovely! I wore this grey jersey skater dress with a pair of blue converse. When I went out I wore a black leather jacket over this. Simple but pretty :)

Converse- Converse All Star
Leather Jacket- New Look

Thursday.
It was again not as warm but still a decent day on Thursday. I had the dentist today so I wore a pair of denim skinny jeans, a white tee and a flannel shirt. I didn't have a very exciting day, just went to the dentist and FaceTimed some friends! Haha, quite a typical and casual day.

White Tee- Internationale
Skinnies- H&M
Flannel Shirt- New Look (borrowed it, thanks Megan) :)

Friday.
On Friday, it was a lovely day again! I wore this light layered white vest top and a pair of leggings. I stayed in with my family and sat in the garden with them, helping my mum with her work and looking after my little brothers, playing with them and things! I had a really nice dinner as well! Haha.
Top- Hollister
Leggings- Primark

Saturday.
Saturday was a rainy day, there was rain and hailstones on and off most of the day. So I stayed in and watched loads of youtube videos, FaceTimed friends and spent time with my grandparents who came round in the afternoon. I wore a white vest top with a royal blue knitted jumper and a pair of leggings.

Vest top- H&M
Jumper- Primark

On Sunday (today) I had a lazy day with one of my bestfriends the day before she left, to go on holiday! I pretty much wore my jammies all day. She wasn't feeling herself so we had a little chill day trying to cheer her up :) I'm pretty sure it worked ;) We did things like sing disney, sing Beyonce and watched lots of old youtube videos. It was a really fun day and I'm sad she's leaving ,e to go on holiday!! :( <3

Hello Spring!

Hello Spring!

Hello everybody, it's Spring. Who is excited, because I definitely am! Spring brings so much happiness and joy :) All the leaves we saw changing and falling in Autumn and Winter are now growing back and becoming new ones. Flowers are blooming and more and more daffodils are appearing all over the ground! So you could say I'm a bit of a Spring lover but to be honest I get excited for every season! I just end up getting bored of the last one and want a change really! I'm really excited for the sun to be shining and everyone to be happy. So to say a welcoming hello to Spring I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite things about it and you can let me know if you have any different ones in the comments, or tweet me (my twitter will be linked below!) The photos in this post will not be mine as I haven't prepared any! Sorry. :)

Baby animals

Piglets, Lambs, Chicks and Bunnies all the baby animals are born and it's a great time to go to the farm. They all run about and it's so cute to see them so reliant on their mothers!

New Wardobe?

If now isn't a good time to update your wardrobe then I don't know when is! Going from Winter, such a dark and cold month to Spring, such a fresh and bright month is such a difference! I love going shopping at the start of spring and brightening up my wardrobe. You can even just brighten it up by buying a few bright accessories like, a bag, or some jewelry. It's amazing what accessories can do ;)

Car Journeys

A bit of a strange one here but car journeys always seem to be much better in Spring. The car is never too hot or too cold, it's just right. You can listen to the radio and be in a great mood because it's sunny outside. You can roll down the windows and let the wind through your hair. You are usually going somewhere exciting like a party, shopping or simply a friends house. That's a bloody good car journey!

Unrealistic but it looks great! Haha.

Walks

In Spring you can go on walks in the nice weather. Simple but great. You can take a stroll to the park with your friends or you can go and have an adventure somewhere you've never been before! They are a good way of getting fresh air and it's light exercise (which is a bonus!) If you go with your friends you will be laughing and having fun most of the time which will burn more calories!
Exploring!

Sitting in the sun!

You need to be very careful in the sun, using sun cream, sunglasses and hats but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it! I love sitting out in the sun, enjoying a book, or even just playing with my little brothers. It's good to get fresh air and also Vitamin D from the sunlight! You can have fun as long as you protect you eyes and skin from the sun! :)

That is what I love about Spring! I hope you have enjoyed this post. It's a little bit different but I hope you liked it anyway. You can let me know if you liked it on twitter or instagram which will be linked below! Also, I have a new header... What do you think!! I will see you next week with another post! Byeeeee :)

Lookbook 1 :)

Lookbook!

Helloooo, this post is going to be sharing some of my favourite outfits from casual to dressy. Some of these are more wearable than others and they might not all be your cup of tea but I hope you enjoy nonetheless. There is 7 cheap and easy to put together, looks all together which I hope you enjoy reading about!

Outfit 1

For the first outfit, I have taken a plain white t-shirt and paired it with a lovely coral blazer. You could just wear a black blazer with this but I thought it was a nice pop of colour. The skirt has a nice pleated design and has a bit of a shape to it. It's not shown in the pictures but I wore this with a pair of nude pumps.

Outfit 2

For this outfit I am wearing a figure hugging, body-con style dress. It has button detail at the shoulder area and looks very sophisticated! The back is very plain except for a little slit at the bottom of the dress. I paired this with a pair of sparkly low heels.

Outfit 3

This is one of my favourites! This is a very pretty floral print mini dress, it has no straps and has a sweetheart neckline. There is button detailing down the front. I've put on a black blazer over this, this adds a little bit of a more sophisticated touch to the very girly dress! I wore this with some little gold sandals from Primark.

Outfit 4

This is another dress number, but this is a more casual dress. It's a plain black, just above the knee dress. It has a lovely collar, with a floral lace design. This adds a cute little touch to the plain dress. It makes at a little more girly aswell! You can wear a black cardigan with this and I paired it with a pair of black boots with a small heel!

Dress- F&F
Boots- Topshop

Collar design ft Peanut the guinea pig :)
Posing with the cat!

Outfit 5

This outfit is a really casual chilled out piece. First I took a long slouchy turtle neck top and paired a pair of green/grey skinny jeans. I rolled up the skinny jeans slightly to look nice with a pair of tan pumps, almost loafer style. I really love the look of all of these together!

Outfit 6

This is a very casual cute look. I took the same slouchy T, and paired it with ,this time, a white skater skirt. The skirt has a texture to it, little circles almost. I wore some white and blue striped ballerina trainer pumps with this.

Skirt- Primark
Ballerna Trainer pumps- New Look

Outfit 7

Next is a very blue outfit! Haha. This outfit is built around this very beautiful blue jacket with white polka dots on it. Under the jacket I'm wearing just a plain white T and I'm wearing a pair of black super skinnys. I added a hat because it can still get a little chilly in the evenings of spring here in the UK and it's also a very cute little hat! As you can see I paired this with , again, the white and blue ballerina trainer pumps which are very comfortable and suitable for pondering about in! As a little extra option for this piece, I added a little blue satchel with a scalloped edge and a little floral design. I thought it went very well and made the outfit and little more practical. :)
Skinny Jeans- Primark
Satchel- Also Primark!
Shoes- New Look
Jacket- New Look
Hat- Also New Look! :)
